Broken Nose (Misc)

I broke my nose when I was like…seven. My parent did not have any idea that it had been broken so they, of course, did not take me to the hospital to get it fixed or anything. That is why I now have a big bump on my nose instead a cut straight nose like the rest of my family. Okay so here is how it all happened.
One day my cousin, Brooke, and I were a playing out in the lake water when we here my dad yell, “Girls, get in here and dry off so you can pack up! We are leaving soon.” We both look at each other and roll our eyes, knowing that we were thinking the exact same thing. We run past the scalding hot sand quickly as not to burn our feet. Relief hits quickly once we catch the edge of the soft grass. We run up to our lake cottage and wash our feet of with the hose and then dry off with the towels. Grandma’s ritual. We hurry inside where all of our family members are packing up their clothes and stuffing them into their bags. We go do the same. My dad called Brooke and I again to have us go up into the loft and make the beds. The loft has a wooden ladder the leads to a square hole. We crawl up into the loft that overlooks the living room and make our beds. The end of my bed was a foot away from the hole. Without noticing, I pull the bed sheet back and fall backwards into the hole. It was like slow motion. My entire body does a flip and I fall flat on my face, thus breaking my stupid nose and leaving me with a big rug burn on my forehead.

Diabetes (Misc)

Something I am really scared of is becoming a diabetic. It seems to run in my family. My mom grew up with seven other brothers and sisters. With the total of eight kids, my grandparents had five girls and three boys. Two of the girls, Angie the sixth child, and Jill the seventh and the last girl, both have diabetes. Not only do they have diabetes but my Grandpa Phil does as well. My Aunt Angie know when she is going to have a reaction because her left leg starts to tingle and go numb. She is very aware of what will happen when she eats certain foods and always checks to regulate her blood sugar. She pricks her finger alllll the time! It is really interesting actually. My Aunt Jill on the other hand is not quite as cautious. She rarely ever checks her blood sugar. Like EVER. And she has two kids, which makes it very dangerous. She has been in countless car accidents because she has had reactions behind the wheel. I used to babysit her kids for a few summer and I have witnessed her have reactions. It is extremely scary. I remember there was one time she was taking me home because I couldn’t drive at the point in time and she started to have a reaction. She kept swerving left of center and seemed very lethargic. I asked her what was wrong and she mumbled reassurances. So then I decided to do what my mom always told me to do. I found some peanut butter crackers in the counsel and said to her, “Jill, I’m full and I can’t finish these. Will you eat them for me?” She ate one cracker and realized we were lost. It took just one cracker to save us. SCARY!

Twi-hards (Misc)

Okay I know people look down upon Twi-hards, but I can’t help my obsession. I have read each of Stephanie Meyer’s books multiple times. She is such an amazing writer! The way she uses imagery when she describes places, objects, and people is very complex. Her elaborate descriptions are so detailed that it makes it very easy to visualize what she is trying to portray.
I know the movies are not that good and the actors are at fault to that, I still seem to feel the need to see them. I am so attached to them it is somewhat insane. Each of the movies that came out in theaters got me so excited that I went to watch each of them twice! But the newest movie that came out, Breaking Dawn: Part Two, set my record. I went to the theater THREE times!! And it was amazing all three times! I can’t help my infatuation with it! Taylor and I went the first time and had amazing seats. The second time we both went for round two! But then I still did not my fix so then I decided, “Yep, I have to go again!” The last time I decided to drag my boyfriend along to watch it with me! He was more that thrilled. Actually he was not thrilled at all but he was nice about it. He is the culprit! He started my obsession because he bought me the whole set of the Twilight Saga! I’m sure he regrets it now!

Bio Lect (Other Class)

Today was extremely difficult to get up for class. I dread the alarm that wakes me up for Biology Lecture at 7 in the morning. I literally grunt and press that button of my phone’s alarm off and roll out of bed with no finesse. Changing out of the clothes I slept in, I throw a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie. I then throw the hoodie up to cover my face and trudge out of my apartment. When we get there sometimes I see girls all dressed up like they are trying to impress somebody. My first thought is “wow, I wish I had that drive to want to look good.” Then I think “Oh, well. Do not really care.” It is hard enough that the professor is terrible but what makes it even harder is when the lights go dim. The only light is from the projector straight ahead and I am clear in the back of the room. It is sooooooooo difficult not to shut my eyes sometimes. I have to make my legs jump up and down to keep from catching some Zzz’z. When he just reads the prompts from the front of the room it just becomes monotonous and his voice does not make it any easier. The class just is not one of my favorites because it is so hard and it seems so pointless to even go considering I can read the PowerPoint slides my self on my own time after nine o’clock!

CPT (Other Class)

Another class that I am taking is called CPT 1040. It is an irrelevant computer class. Why? Because I have already learned everything we have been “taught” and tested over. I took a computer class in high school that was more complicated. I am not complaining about the simplicity of the class because it is an easy A, but what I do not understand is why I have to take it. I do not see how it is a requirement for a dental hygiene major to take a computer class about Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. To me it is just absolutely irrelevant. I hate having to get up in the morning and walking to this class that I know have to review over thing that we learned in elementary and all through out high school. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to work through Word. Everybody uses Word, so everybody knows how to control it. It is pretty self explanatory. And PowerPoint seems to be a dying program considering everybody uses it but nobody likes it. This computer class should teach us useful tools such a Prezi. In high school I was fortunate enough to have learned about Prezi and it is a really interesting program to present with. Other students should have that opportunity. But it seems that they have not because when Prezi was brought, nobody in the class new anything about it except for Taylor Springer, who went to the school with me. Shout out to Crestview for being good educators.

Animal Cops (Misc)

Right now I am watching animal cops. It is one of the saddest shows ever! Some people are just too cruel to poor innocent animals. Some of the animals are really skinny. They are to the point where there ribs are not slightly noticeable but extremely clear to see.  The episode I am watching right now that is about two dogs. The first dog is located in a muddy kennel. As the cops walk up, they notice it is a German Shepard and he can’t walk on his two front legs. At first it looks like a deformity so they take it to the animal hospital where they take a couple X-rays and find that the legs have been dislocated and could have been treated. Since this happened a long time ago, the legs have never been healed correctly. The other dog was found in an urban area roaming around and skinny. The cops discover that the dog is a mother of three puppies. Since they can’t catch the mother they don’t want to take the puppies from her so they decided to lay a few blankets down for the puppies and some found and water out, then come back tomorrow. Returning the second time, they find that only two of the puppies are on the blankets. They do not know if the other one is wandered off or if the mother moved them. They couldn’t find her so they took the puppies and tranquilized the mother, hoping to find the puppy soon before it dies.
