My dream job has always been to become a dental hygienist.
As a little girl, I was always soooo excited to go to the dentist just to get
my annual teeth cleaning. The dental hygienist probably hated me because as
they told me to always keep mouth wide open I would continue to ask them
questions about their job. They would always say open a little wider or keep
your tongue out of the way. I never really seemed to get the hint, I guess!
Dental hygienist make a salary of about sixty thousand dollars on average. You
work about four days a week. The only problem is is there are no health
insurance benefits. Many dental hygienist work as part time as well. I would
much rather work full time but if I have to, I will probably have to work part
time at two different dental practices.
Hopefully, things fall in to place for me because it’s hard to get a job
as a dental hygienist because there are so many. I shadowed a dental hygienist
back in high school and they said that the best part of their job is the
people. I would consider myself a definite people person. I love talking to new
people and also making new friends. I believe that is a quality you have attain
to be a good dental hygienist because many people dislike going to the dentist.
So to make people feel comfortable because of a friendly voice is a good trait
to have.
